The students of the 1980 batch/class of MBBS were shocked to learn the news of the untimely death of one of their beloved classmates due to Covid. As they mourned this loss, they, as a collective class of 1980, resolved to do something impactful and meaningful in the memory of their classmate.  After discussion with Gagan Singh’s family, they started worldwide fundraising to create this scholarship. Over a matter of mere 72 hours, the classmates from six countries across the globe, were able to raise funds to sustain this generous scholarship to support bright students with economic hardship at AIIMS Delhi until year 2030.
